Hadassah leaned back against the wall and sighed. 'Now is the time to sleep,' she said to herself. But after a day like this, how could she? She closed her eyes as images flashed through her mind.
She was standing next to a precipice, looking down at the raging river beneath her. Suddenly large hands shoved her over the edge. She was falling. Fast. She reached for something to grab, but there was nothing, no saving from certain death. Images passed through her mind. Her mother smiling. Her dad's hands. Adrian, a childhood friend, sheepishly smiling as her gave her a rock he had found in stream. All people she had known once, now gone, and perhaps to be soon met again in another place. She closed her eyes.
She felt something wrap around her waist. Opening her eyes, she saw only a mass of brown, gold and black feathers. 'What in the world?!' About a half an hour passed when she was suddenly, yet gently set down on a mass of heather. Looking up, she blinked and gasped.
Sorry, I gotta go for now... will be back with more soon.
